I think it’s reasonable to tell how my work flow has changed from 2D/3D graphic point of view. I want also to elaborate a little few decisions, which may help you with finding arguments and figuring out what computer parts you need and could buy eventually.
This is a quite old article. I began writing it in the beginning of 2011, or even earlier. I guess it’s pretty hard for me to write larger texts, as I constantly want to correct them and have breaks to refresh mind. This gives another reason for trying to blog regularly – exercising writing ;)
I’d like to explain a little what and why I’ve customised blog design. Perhaps some of you remember the previous blog platform I was using, Google’s Blogger. I was using there the default theme called Minima. It was using classic layout – header at the top, content column at left side and sidebar at right side. It was beautiful and minimalistic, but I’ve decided to re-design it mainly for better reading experience. The changes and reasons are:
I didn’t expect much anything, but somehow I won in Concept Art category in 26-th CGChallenge ‘Dreamscape’. You can see the announcement, my ‘Pixel Fishes’ entry and gallery of all entries, in which you can find few great pieces of art that unfortunately didn’t get distinctions. I guess that’s a nature of contests.
Also, I would like to congratulate fellow countryman Piotr Jabłoński, who won in Digital Painting category with his ‘Dreamsworld’ work.
Below you can see my winning entry.
Phew! The trash code remained in imported Blogger posts was wiped out and layout in older pages has got lined up. I’m going to babble a little about CSS, so seal your ears with fingers, close eyes and bear with me a little if you’re not into this :) If you’re interested why I’ve moved and what nice plugins has WordPress got, read on.
Finally, I made this move. I’m going to write more, but for some time, I’m focusing on making proper redirections from Blogger posts to ones there. Also, I’ll have to clean out older posts on page 3 and further, as because of weird Blogger image codes, the post layout is messed. Should take one day, I hope!
That’s a killer combo. I’ve uploaded three works yesterday into IT’S ART gallery and today I’ve noticed all of them have got featured on front page! And they’re even placed between more killer works, wow. The works are Monster (or Dracula), Twin gods and Arabic interior.
Also, I’ve noticed in my profile statistics that there was already front page-featured work and I was surprised. I’ve missed it. Before yesterday’s upload, there was only one work and I suppose that’s one which got featured – Winter. Long time ago, it was a entry for IT’S ART’s contest titled “When We Left Earth”
Thanks, IT’S ART, it made my day :)
Phew, I need to post more regularly, otherwise it’s hard to figure out which new works I didn’t post.
First, I would like to announce the face lift of my portfolio site. More minimalism and lighter theme. Also, this blog was redesigned to match the portfolio as well. There are some blog layout bugs that I want to correct or improve, but for this moment, I’m pretty happy with results. Also, there are some new works in portfolio – check it!
If you encounter some layout problem and you were earlier on portfolio or blog, hit Refresh to flush out the web browser cache.
Okay, time for posting images. Six new illustrations and WIPs.
